Today the new Jackson Kayak FUN was born!    The mold arrived and was carefully framed up, the first few boats done to dial into mold in, get the thicknesses right, get the weight right, and then BINGO!  I have a green and a red Fun in my RV heading to Canada.    There, we’ll shoot some video, take photos, and give you a feel for how this boat performs!    I already know because I paddled the prototype and worked hard with David Knight to get the exact desired performance.    David nailed it with his magic!  What is...

So I have just got back from Italy. It was a trip full of epic paddling in crystal clear white water with a great group of people. This was my first trip to Italy and it will not be my last. I enjoyed the fact that there is such a vast array of top white water to paddle meaning we could get in at least two rivers a day. I also loved the views and the culture of the places we visited. At last the AS exams are over and I can get back in my squirt boat!! I have been able to train in the pool at Abbeycroft leisure centre over the past few months which has helped me no end with learning and perfecting moves and has also been a far more appealing option than the river over the winter months (especially when a shortie cag is involved!) But up until last week, I hadn’t properly squirt boated on white water and as a result, was yet to experience what must surely be the most exciting move– the mystery move!...

Next year is the 50th Anniversary of the Pennie Way and as part of the celebration the BBC a filming a 3 part documentary and have asked me to take the shows presenter, Polar Expedition and Diving Guru National Geographic’s Paul Rose on a paddling journey down part of the route. The Pennie way follows a good chunk of the River Tees, one of the places I paddled a lot growing up, so as soon as I got the official invite it I knew instantly where to go to get some classic northern paddling and gem Yorkshire dales.
